Dillon Montana has connections to Lewis and Clark Expedition. Today we visited Clarks Outlook, Camp Fortunate, Beaverhead Rock that Sacagawea's recognized as a place where her people, The Shoshonis would be encountered, and they could get horses to help continue their travels west.
We saw petroglyphs, eagles, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, bluebirds, lots of fishermen in the river. We also stopped at Bannack State Park which is a ghost town and a National Historic Landmark. Here we had lunch and could pan for gold. No luck with gold but we did find garnets.
