We arrived in Dubrovnik Croatia this morning. What an amazing place to start the day. We were set for a Dalmation Coast Wine and Food tasting tour today. We went to a small village of Orasac to see a family-owned horse driven olive oil mill. After seeing the old way, it was done they served us olive oil tasting along with local made cheese, smoked ham and wine. Next, we went to the village of Ponikve to sample wine and liquors from a family-owned winery. Next onto the city of Ston where the European Wall of China is and Croatia's oyster capital. We went out on a boa t and visited a family oyster and mussel beds and enjoyed fresh flat oysters on half shell, wine, bread, mussels and local liquor. It was a wonderful day and by far the best tour we have taken on this trip so far. The fruit on the trees is amazing-kiwis, pomegranate galore.
I have to say it was the first time I've ever had oysters and they were wonderful!
