We arrived in Marseille France this morning. We were to have a tour of the main city but tourist traffic was stopped due to President Macron and the Pope meeting. The city was shut down unless you wanted to explore on your own. Our tour was changed to Aix-en-Provence which was a short bus ride from the port. Being Saturday there were beautiful open air markets for food and goods that both tourists and locals were able to enjoy. Artist Paul Cezanne was born and buried here. His paintings of the local mountains are iconic. Pablo Picasso also loved this area and was buried here.
We had a wonderful Greek meal on the open deck this evening- chicken and lamb in pita with all the fixings.
