This morning we met Trudy and Paul for breakfast at Burnt Toast. We first connected on the Fantasy RV East Coast tour last year. Living in Oregon this is the closest our path have crossed. They are finishing their 60 day trip thru Fantasy covering Canada and Alaska.
The tour took us to Emerald Lake and Caribou Crossing then flew to Dawson. The colors of the lake are amazing and according to Native American Folklore the colors come from the Northern Lights resting before ascending each night. Caribou Crossing was a museum/petting zoo with sled dogs. Waste of our time unfortunately.
Flight to Dawson was little over and hour in a prop jet instead of a 10hr bus trip. Thank goodness for that. This town is a trip back in time. The population doubles in summer with tourism and mine workers. Some of the gold mining shows are filmed up here. Took a trip to top of the dome-a beautiful 360 degree view of Dawson, converging of Yukon & Klondike rivers.
