We traveled the Middle Rhine River today on our way to Braunbach Germany and the Marksburg Castle. The Middle Rhine was a beautiful canvas of picturesque forests, vineyards and castles as my pictures will attest to. The grapes have been harvested by hand back 2000 years. The medieval noblemen built the soaring castles to oversee trade, collect tolls and defend kingdoms. It was an amazing place on top deck of the ship to hear the history of the areas we passed and take photos. The visit to the castle was interesting and has a caretaker family who lives on sight to help with upkeep. We met up with the boat in Koblenz Germany.
