We boarded the ship Vidar at noon yesterday, our home for the next 14 days. Due to COVID and cancellation of the cruise last year we were able to upgrade our room to a suite that included a balcony with chairs and full windows that open to our bedroom. As anyone who has cruised knows the rooms are not huge so any extra space is wonderful. Today we took a bus tour of Budapest with a local guide that provided much information. I loved her comical explanation of the Budapest flag colors- red for paprika, white for sour cream and green for all of the foods that they pickle.
We have had to prove vaccination and booster shots, negative Covid test and two “spit” tests so far. Masks are required so far on board when walking around or on bus. Not sure if that will change once we take Saul this evening.
