Wednesday we spent the afternoon traveling Washington DC, dinner at Carmine's and DC Monuments at night. Shorter day than the last few but still a nice way to revisit DC after many years. We ran into a large group of women who were visiting DC on an Honor Flight. It was the first all women veteran honor flight from Illinois to Washington DC. What an amazing group that were representing WWII, Korea & Vietnam 93 strong ages from 63-104 years old. There were also two other groups from other states. It was wonderful to see how so many people would stop and thank them for their service as they visited the areas.
The dinner at Carmines was amazing. It was served family style and started with Caesar salad and garlic bread. Next course was pasta with Pomodoro or a garlic/oil sauce. chicken parmigiana and salmon was the third choice and dessert was chocolate cannoli and tiramisu.
Today was a free day to go down to the mall and see whatever you wanted. Many are visiting the Smithsonian Museum of your choice. We decided to stay at the RV and let our bodies rest. We have met the halfway point of the trip this week and have enjoyed our journey.
We take off for Williamsburg VA tomorrow.

4x WOW! Meeting the Honor Flight women, day walking, monuments at night are Awesome to look at (love the nod to MI at the WWII memorial) and Carmine's dinner...I'm hungry just imagining how wonderful the menu sounds.
