A Travellerspoint blog

Saturday a couple of new friends and myself declined to go into Philadelphia and went into Intercourse and Bird & Hand and hit the quilt shops. We had a great time, spent lots on quilting material & kits and met some wonderful Amish quilters. We could have spent many more days in the area exploring. The area is beautiful and filled with large farms, shops and wonderful people that appreciate a simpler life.
We left Lancaster PA Sunday and headed towards DC. It was a foggy morning and we saw a precious Amish boy in the back of a buggy as we left. What a wonderful way to end our stay there.
Most of the group made a stop at Gettysburg for a short time but since we have seen the presentations we continued on to our next campground-Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park Maryland. Fantasy RV Tours provided dinner from Famous Dave's that evening and we had a pumpkin decorating contest. Each RV was given a pumpkin although only about half participated. Two of my new best buddies and I combined our pumpkins into one entry. We had found great doll clothes while shopping in Lancaster and had two girls and a boy. We won first place in the contest that was judged by a RV couple who works at the park.
