A Travellerspoint blog

Monday in NYC/New Jersey. We started out bright and early and took the bus then boarded a ferry to visit Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. I found some "Early/Earley" people listed as people who came thru Ellis Island as immigrants. According to the family history documents those who came across many have been Earley and that the D was added at a later date. I now have more digging to do. I took pictures of the ones I found today and included in this post.
Jai was a happy camper because he was able to get his Junior Ranger badges at both places and even sworn in at the Statue of Liberty. I will have to post video later because he had a great interaction with one of the National Park employees that I got on video and she even gave me a badge for having to put up with him. After lunch we headed to Battery Park, Lower Manhattan on bus to visit the 911 Memorial, One World Trade Center Observatory. We had dinner in Little Italy at La Nonna-amazing food and tiramisu for dessert then headed to Time Square to take in the sites. We are pooped and still have two more days here. Took so make picture but have limited as not to bore you.
