National Naval Aviation Museum

One of the best things about RV life is the people you meet along the way. When we arrived here I struck up a conversation with a gentleman a few sites down. Garold and his wife travel during the winter to stay away from the snow. He is retired from the Navy after serving from 1956-1976 and a pilot so I knew he and Jai would get along great. I told him we wanted to visit the Museum on base but were unable without a DOD id. Being retired military he said he'd be glad to take us and be the tour guide for us, We had a great time exploring the lighthouse, museum and listening to all of his stories of being on the carrier, flying and servicing planes along with training other pilots while in the service. His knowledge was better than any tour guide could have provided us. I think he enjoyed the day as much as we did. Thank your veterans!
