Monday we drove to Avery Island where the McIlhenny Co. Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce is made. They have a self guided tour that explains the family history, entire process of making the sauce from start to finish. Not a bad way to spend $5. On the grounds they also have a museum, country store, cooking classes, restaurant, Jungle Garden and Bird City. The last two are out of season so we didn't go there.
In the store you can try all of their products before purchasing them. We headed next door for lunch. The food we ordered was good and gave us the opportunity to try many foods in small portions.
