We had a beautiful 4 hr drive to the Lake Country. From City to rolling hills, mountain and lakes. It was the area of William Wadsworth and Beatrice Potter. We found stone Circles with beautiful vistas, walked to find small waterfalls and drove final distance to see the Surprise View-which it was.
So many towns tucked into the mountains at every turn. Takes a long time to travel since there is no grid system over here, every thing is in circles or round about ????,
Today we traveled three hours in the rain to Dunning. We stopped off at a Scotch whisky distillary. Next tour was full so we did a scotch and chocolate tasting-that was dangerous. Left there for foo but the bar didn't have food and we were directed to theTee Room down the street. We-I mean Jai met a sweet table of widowed ladies that loved the attention. They gather every Sunday instead of going home to empty house after church. They were a bit dismayed the lady who was to bring the "Bottle" didn't show. As we left they all said "cheers and enjoy your holiday Jai." The restaurant had different salt pepper shakers in each table, ours were swans. Reminded me of mom since she collected them. Sweet memories.
Close to end of our time in England/Scotland. Trip to St
Andrew's tomorrow the on to Pairs.
