Traveled from Wicklow to Kiltegan and onto Arthurstown 9-20-19 for the evening. We visited Hook Lighthouse which is the oldest continuously working lighthouse in the world at over 800 yrs. The guide was very knowledgeable and even knew how many lighthouses Michigan has. We climbed to the top and had a great view of the area. Jai spotted a newer MG pulling in as we left the parking lot. Of course we had to go back and speak to the older gentlemen that exited the car-It was a 2005 MG ZT. After pictures and speaking with them we found a great place for dinner and then headed to Arthurstown for the evening with a lovely lady named Kathleen.
We left Arthurstown this morning after a wonderful breakfast and traveling food from our host. We took the car ferry over to Waterford and drove to the city to tour the Waterford factory. What a great experience that was. Talk about true workmanship. Left Waterford and headed to The Rock of Cashel. This is another site that is being maintained not restored in Ireland by the OPW(Office of Public Works). Ireland sees the need to maintain these sites for all to see as they were, not try to restore to a better state. We found our Country place for the evening and met our host Patsy who steered us to another great local pub for dinner and a pint. I again ate mussels-beginning to take a liking to them. My father would be so disappointed. Only a few days left in Ireland until we head to Edinburgh for the next leg of our journey.
